The Gap

The audience is ready.

The development pipeline hasn't been built for us.

Black women are among the most powerful storytellers and audiences in entertainment. The demand is proven. What's missing isn't talent — it's infrastructure. The development systems that take a great story and make it pitchable. The industry access that turns a promising career into a working one. The ecosystem that connects IP, education, and screen adaptation into something that actually compounds over time.

Most organizations operate in one vertical. We're building the bridge across all of them.

The intersection of Black stories, education pipelines, IP development, and film & TV adaptation is massively underdeveloped. Very few organizations are building that bridge. We are.

Three Ways In.

One Ecosystem.

  • For Creators & Authors IP Development & Book-to-Screen

You have a book, a memoir, a story archive, or a script. We help you develop it into something the industry can say yes to — adaptation strategy, story world analysis, character arcs, pitch bible framework, and a full development roadmap for film or television. We'll be honest about what the path looks like. No promises we can't keep

  • For Youtube Creators Story Development

Turn your idea, archive, or concept into a structured, narrative-driven show. Show concept development, episode structure, narrative arc design, season outline, and script guidance. Youtube projects also become IP that can evolve into screen adaptations.

  • For Schools & Workforce Programs Creative Labs

Institutional Career Pipeline For schools, workforce offices, and cultural organizations ready to build a real film and TV career pathway. Workshops, semester partnerships, multi-day intensives, and curriculum modules — outcomes-driven, not just enrollment-driven. This is the entry door to an industry pipeline that keeps producing. We track outcomes. Not just participation.

  • For Working Professionals Creative Labs Pro Access

Vault Sessions 90-minute sessions with working industry professionals — production designers, writers, directors — showing their exact workflow. The craft side and the business side, taught by people still doing the work. Includes downloadable 10-week lesson guides timestamped in the video. Live sessions coming May 2026

The Vision

We're not building a company. We're building an ecosystem.

Ecosystems take longer to start. But once they work, they compound. The long-term vision for IM Media Productions is a cultural IP incubator — a creative development hub where Black women creators bring projects to develop for the film and TV market, and where the next generation of crew and creative professionals is already in the pipeline behind them.

Creative Labs Film & TV career pathways and institutional partnerships. Education is the entry door — and once inside, a full creator pipeline follows.

01

IP Development Book-to-screen adaptation, podcast development, and story architecture. The upstream work that shapes projects before production ever begins.

02

Development Slate Original and adapted projects in active development. When studios see a slate, not just services, every conversation changes.

03

Industry Network Producers, directors, script consultants, production designers, agents. When a creator enters IM Media, they feel like they're entering a development ecosystem — not just hiring a consultant.

Meet Monique Shaw

Film & TV IP Development Strategist | Founder, I.M. Media Productions

Monique Shaw didn't get handed a seat at the table. She built her own — on real film sets, in real AD departments, on productions like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, The Hate U Give, and Coming 2 America.

She left a six-figure corporate career to do it. And what she learned inside those sets changed everything:

Great ideas don't get made. Developed ideas do.

As an AD Department PA, Monique spent years keeping directors, talent, and 15+ departments aligned so production days stayed on schedule. She saw exactly where the pipeline between a great story and a green-lit project breaks down — and built IM Media Productions to fix it.

IM Media is a creative development studio for authors, creators, and institutions ready to move from concept to screen-ready IP. Monique specializes in book-to-screen adaptation, narrative podcast development, and film & TV career pathway curriculum — bringing real studio systems to every project she touches.

She offers what she wished she'd had at the start:

A clear path. A real system. Execution that works.

What We'll Tell You Straight

We're not a shortcut. We're a system.

A woman dressed in black, sitting on a chair with one leg extended, in a dimly lit room with red curtains and empty chairs.
  • Every project and every career path is different. We bring industry knowledge, honest guidance, and the right connections — not a guaranteed greenlight.

  • We work upstream. The payoff is real but it isn't instant. We'll tell you what the realistic path looks like before you commit.

  • That's the job. The best thing we can do for your project is be honest about what the industry will and won't respond to right now.

  • Shows featuring underrepresented stories generate 5× more social engagement. The audience is there. Getting more Black women's stories to screen is an opportunity the industry keeps leaving on the table. We're here to close that gap — from both sides.
